This class will introduce participants to writing free verse (non-rhyming) poetry using modern American poet Kenneth Koch's teachings on children's poetry. We will explore how to write and think like children through a number of poetry exercises in order to demystify free verse poetry and unlock a writer's full potential. The aim of the course is to debunk the myth that poetry is overly complex and difficult to understand.
