Women in Music Festival: Resonanz Ensemble

When: Sat., March 4, 7:30-9 p.m.

Women in Music Festival: They Sang Too: Unheard Voices of Women's Suffrage “They Sang Too” restores century-old Suffragist music and lyrics by non-White, non-Christian authors and composers in new settings created for the Resonanz Ensemble (outreach choir for the Rochester Oratorio Society) by Jeannie Guerrero, formerly of the Eastman School of Music faculty. These beautiful, catchy, witty, and compelling anthems set to familiar Civil War-era marches, Stephen Foster tunes and music by the Queen of Hawai’i among many others, remain enlightening for their timeliness and power.
