Rochester-based American Villain Apparel is an alternative clothing line established in 2013. Co-founder Jeremy Seaver describes the label as fast growing — he puts it this way: "If we could get Miley Cyrus to wear one of our shirts, we would — not that it would be our first choice." Seaver, a veteran of the local scene, sees an opportunity to cross-promote fashion and music. Thus, American Villain Fest, a two-day music festival that features American Villain garb mashed-up with over a dozen area bands.
Friday's line-up includes hardcore pop punkers Boulders, progressive thrashers Murder in the Rue Morgue, Into the Harbor, Apparatus, metalcore quartet Armed with Valor, and Careless Downfall.
Saturday's line-up includes Tio Mugre and Ampbition, From the Skies, brutal metalheads Beneath Hell's Sky, Forte, Many Will Fall, Zero Signal, melodic rockers Absolution Project, Without Regret, and groovecore quintet Million Miles From Broadway. It's going to be a banger, see you there.
American Villain Fest is Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27, at Montage Music Hall, 50 Chestnut Street. 7 p.m. each night. $6-$8. Themontagemusichall.com.
