The Rochester school district will hold public input meetings on the proposed budget for the 2017-2018 school year on Tuesday, March 28, and Tuesday, April 25. The board will also hold three review and deliberation sessions, which are open to the public: Thursday, March 30; Tuesday, April 11; and Tuesday, April 25. All the meetings will be at the district's central office, 131 West Broad Street, at 6 p.m.
The Neighborhood of the Arts Neighborhood Association will hold a meeting on Wednesday, March 29, focusing on transportation and safety issues. City and county officials will discuss improvement plans for the Atlantic Avenue corridor in response to residents' concerns about collisions at the Atlantic-Merriman intersection. Residents also want to discuss pedestrian safety measures, such as crosswalks, for Atlantic Avenue due to increased development in the area. The meeting will be held at Gleason Works, 1000 University Avenue, at 6:30 p.m.
a Mt. Hope site
At a meeting on Wednesday, March 29, city officials will seek public input regarding the potential use and redevelopment of the property at 151 Mt. Hope Avenue. The city-owned 1.8-acre site in the South Wedge neighborhood is located near the east bank of the Genesee River, south of I-490. The meeting will be held in the meeting room of Hamilton Tower, 185 Mt. Hope Avenue, at 6 p.m. Information: 428-6883.

The M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence will host two workshops on War Tax Resistance this week. Representatives from the National War Tax Resistance Coordinating Committee, Sam Koplinka-Loehr and Tom Joyce, will discuss the resistance tactics. Chanel Snead, a member of B.L.A.C.K., will discuss how those tactics can also be used for racial justice.
