Fairport native and Oscar winner the late Philip Seymour Hoffman will be honored in a special series continuing with his film which describes how Oakland A’s general manager Billy Beane (played by Brad Pitt who also produced the film) successfully attempted to assemble a baseball team on a lean budget by employing computer-generated analysis to acquire new players.
