Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and a picnic to this week's free performance of "The Trials of Robin Hood," held at the Penfield Amphitheater. Presented as a dramatic reading of Will Averill's play, the story is told from the perspectives of the fabled thief himself, Maid Marian, and Prince John, and contains three different endings. The family-friendly play allows the audience to decide who is the real hero of the tale. The evening will open with family activities and a performance from Flower City Vaudeville.
"The Trials of Robin Hood" will be presented at the Penfield Amphitheater in Veterans Memorial Park, 3100 Atlantic Avenue. Activities begin at 6 p.m. Free, donations accepted. penfieldplayers.org.
