The University of Rochester’s International Theatre Program will this week present young British playwright Alice Birch’s “Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again.” The production is guest directed by NYC-based director Christina Roussos, who said in a video promo: “The show is an explosive interrogation of language and how it creates boundaries within our society for women.” It also explores behaviors and other forces that shape women in the 21st century and examines what complacency prevents us from tackling radical change.
“Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again” will be staged Thursday, November 29 through Saturday, December 2; and Wednesday, December 5 through Saturday, December 8, at 7 p.m. There will also be a matinee performance on Sunday, December 2, at 2 p.m. Performances take place in Todd Theater on the University of Rochester’s River Campus. Tickets $15 for the general public, $8 for University of Rochester students, and $12 for alumni, faculty, staff, and seniors. 275-4088; sas.rochester.edu/theatre.
