Beginning Friday, Classics Theater of Rochester will present "Arms and The Man," one of George Bernard Shaw's first really successful plays. The comedy is built around the 1885 Serbian-Bulgarian War and follows Raina, a young Bulgarian woman who aids the Swiss Captain Bluntschli, and years later, meets him again. The witty play deals with the hypocrisy of human nature and the futility of war — with a little romance thrown in for good measure. The play is the fifth installment in Classics Theater of Rochester's "Shaw" series at MuCCC.
"Arms and The Man" will play at MuCCC, 142 Atlantic Avenue, on Friday, May 13, through Saturday, May 21. 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday; and 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 15. General admission tickets are $15, and student and senior tickets are $12. Purchase online at muccc.org.
