A graduate of Harvard University and the Iowa Writer’s Workshop, Jacinda Townsend is the author of the novel Saint Monkey (Norton, 2014), which follows the lives of two girls growing up in Eastern Kentucky's Black community shortly after the Korean War. Townsend has previously published short fiction in magazines such as The Maryland Review, Passages North, African Voices, Women's Art Quarterly, and Carve Magazine.
