Playwright Katori Hall’s play The Mountaintop humanizes Dr. King, as it imagines him in his room at the Lorraine Motel on the night before he was assassinated, after orating one of his most stirring speeches. At Geva Theatre Center, Royce Johnson stars as Dr. King and Joneice Abbott-Pratt is the hotel maid with whom he interacts, under Skip Greer’s direction.
