SOUL-JAZZ | Takuya Kuroda

by

Back in the day, Clarissa Street was synonymous with jazz; that's where the late, great Pythodd Club stood. Celebrating that legacy, the Clarissa Street Reunion Festival will host fiery Japanese trumpeter Takuya Kuroda with special guests The English Project and Paradigm Shift. Kuroda came to the US to attend Boston's Berklee College of Music, where he met singer José James. After appearing on James's albums, Kuroda signed with Blue Note Records and is now a rising star on the soul-jazz scene.

Takuya Kuroda performs Saturday, April 22, at Anthology, 336 East Avenue. 7 p.m. $25. anthologylive.com; takuyakuroda.com.
