Workshops

Sacred Conversations Race & Action Planning Event

When: Thu., May 19, 6:30-8 p.m. 2016

These Sacred Conversations are based on the workshops done with congregations outside of Ferguson as that community convulsed after Michael Brown was killed by a police officer. In Ferguson and St. Louis the conversations helped congregants tell their stories and helped others understand the daily reality of their neighbors. The conversations are designed to be a series of two 4-hour workshops. Congregations can team up with other congregations or do the workshops individually. These conversations will lead to action by better-informed and more self-aware people. At the launch event representatives of congregations will plan their workshops together on a timeline that works best for their congregation. We’ll culminate the activity in the last week of June and move into action in the summer.
