In honor of Dr. King’s birthday,  MCC History Professor Njeru Murage will facilitate a community-wide discussion around the theme of “Penfield’s Recollections of the Civil Rights Era.” Penfield residents and the general public are invited to watch a short film on Martin Luther King, Jr. and then share their memories of Dr. King and what effect the Civil Rights Movements had on them. This program is jointly sponsored by the Friends of Penfield Public Library and the Monroe Community College Department of Anthropology, History, Political Science, and Sociology.
