Radical Reversal is a five-piece experimental poetry band exploring music and language through a social justice lens. Their sound is motivated by how the penal system impacted poet Randall Horton—the only tenured professor in the United States with seven felony convictions— and is inspired by many genres of music. The transformative interaction between poet and band weaves a damning critique of the keyholders of the carceral state through instrument and voice, melodic compositions that are at times gritty, urgent, and at other times, an aesthetic journey that will make your head nod. Event sponsored by RIT, open to the public.
