The circus going on in America right now is calling you to action like never before. Now we're not talking about setting yourself on fire or leaving a flaming bag of dog poo at the front door of the White House, but you can rock out with the Rise Up! Festival, an evening-long community music, art, and activism festival to benefit progressive politics. Like-minded artists like Danielle Ponder and the Tomorrow People, Kyp Malone (of TV on the Radio), Seth Faergolzia's Multibird, The Isotopes, Friday in America, BakariPoet, and Andrew Conley will get together to promote grass roots organizations ROCitizen, B.L.A.C.K., and Women Elect. Resist, resist, resist.
Rise Up! Festival takes place Saturday, April 15, at Anthology, 336 East Avenue. 5 p.m. to midnight. $15-$25. anthologylive.com.
