Our Weather Comes from...Where?

When: Thu., Feb. 11, 7-9 p.m. 2016

The Hobart & William Smith Speaker Series at Wood Library continues with a weather-related lecture presented by Assistant Professor of Geoscience Nick Metz. Forecasters often look half a globe away to understand how the weather will develop across the U.S. This presentation will discuss the mechanisms by which western Pacific typhoons spawn significant weather events across the U.S., such as the 84 inches of snow that fell around Buffalo in 2014.
