Our Brain, on Art.

When: Thu., Oct. 10, 6:30 p.m. 2013

Have you ever wondered why Mona Lisa's smile is so mysterious, or why Monet's paintings seem to shimmer? This class will explore how brilliant artists create such astonishing perceptual feats by exploring how our eyes and brain govern how we understand the visual world of art. Specifically, we will explore concepts of color by mixing acrylic paints, looking at famous artwork, and developing an idea of how our brain captures various visual aspects of art. No prior knowledge of art or neuroscience is needed, but you can expect to gain a greater appreciation for both.
