When: Fri., May 31, 7:30 p.m. and Sat., June 1, 8 p.m. 2019
From Lauds through Compline, Musica Spei presents a concert based on the Divine Office, a cycle of prayer services integral to Benedictine monasteries. The peal of liturgical bells marks the progress of the day, while the music spans the late medieval to high renaissance with a range of composers from Dufay through Victoria. The audience will experience a wide range of styles and musical textures, from double choir/antiphonal works to contemplative and somber pieces. The Friday concert will be at St. Mary Church at 15 Clark St. in Auburn.
