Bruce of Roberts Wesleyan College will facilitate this series that focuses on the history of the women’s suffrage movement in both NY State and our nation spanning 70 years. 2020 marks the centennial of the passage of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote.
Gardening with Native Plants (virtual)

Come Along on a Mystery Trip (virtual)

Lisa Wemett and Terry Mulee present a variety of day-long “mystery trips” throughout western NYS and the Finger Lakes that include Ithaca, Buffalo, and many small towns in between, exploring and photographing gardens, scenic views, and art. Poetry Book Discussion Group (virtual): “Poetry is a State of Mind”

In a time of confinement, poems open up our interior world, each poem unique in the way it evokes a particular state of mind or consciousness, feeling and perception. We will bring this notion to our reading of a broad range of poems and consider as well how our state of mind influences our reading. Teen Creative Writing Club (via Zoom)

Writer and library aide Dani Galens leads this fun and inspiring group. Teens can respond to interesting and thought-provoking prompts each week, and gain insight into the tools and tricks writers use to create successful stories by sharing and learning with others who enjoy the craft of writing. All levels are welcome. Registration is required.
Dream, Build, & Create: An Introduction to Engineers and Engineering
November 10, 14, 17, & 24
For All Ages, Especially Families & Children. This inspirational program will offer people a free film screening of the award-winning documentary "Dream Big: Engineering Our World" on the dates listed. In addition to the film, ASCE is organizing several virtual panels in November where patrons can join live conversations with their Dream Teams of young, diverse engineers. Dream Teams will include Cities of the Future, Women in Engineering, Black Engineers, and even a Spanish-language Dream Team. Presented by The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in partnership with the STAR Library Network (STAR Net) and its Project BUILD engineering program. Project BUILD is supported by the National Science Foundation. Links and codes will be posted to PPL’s social media shortly before each screening/discussion. You may also register via PPL’s website to receive these links and codes via email.
Take-It-and-Make-It Craft: Autumn Votives Supplies limited; participants must be in grades 6-12
Pick up a kit with supplies and instructions at the Information Desk beginning at 3:00 PM on November 20. First come, first served for these kits and crafters must be in grades 6-12. Take-It-and-Make-It Craft kits have been popular and there is a limited supply. A Zoom Craft Room will be offered on November 23 at 4:00 for those who want to pick up tips for creating the project and to craft with an online community (directions for joining will be included in the kits).
Practice SAT with Chariot Learning (virtual) Saturday, November 21, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM
For Grades 9-12. Teens can take an official, full-length test under proctored conditions from the comfort of home or other quiet location and find out scores upon completion. Registrants will attend via Zoom and take a full official practice SAT under the guidance of an expert proctor, who will then help everyone score their tests (multiple-choice portions only). The test document will be emailed to registrants the day before the exam. Participants are asked to have the following ready at the start of the test:
 A printed copy of the provided test PDF and multiple choice answer grid
 Pencils
 Calculator
 Snacks & water
Please use a parent’s email rather than a student email address to sign up for this exam. This email address will be shared with Chariot Learning and used to set up the Zoom invitation and mail the test document. Registration is required and is open until 2:00 PM on November 19.

For ages 3-8. Kid can listen to a story with Clifford virtually, pick up special craft projects and/or meet Clifford in person. (Social distance protocols enforced). A story time link will be emailed to registrants Saturday morning. Take-and-Make craft kits for all registered children can be picked up in the children’s room from Friday, November 13 to November 20 during open hours. Clifford will make a special outdoor visit and registered children can meet Clifford Saturday, November 14 from 11 AM to Noon. Child must be accompanied by an adult and wear a mask.
Science Saturday Series (virtual)

For Grades K-5. A short science project will be presented virtually by Miss Katy or Miss Tracie that kids can perform with their families at home.
November 21: Insulation experiment kit available for pick-up November 21-25. Video links will be emailed on Saturday mornings. Later session take-and-make kit pick-up dates to be announced. Online registration for grades K-5 is required.
Story & Crafty Fun Days (virtual)

For Grades K-4. A story and a demonstration of a theme-related craft for children in kindergarten through fourth grade will be presented virtually by children’s librarian, Miss Jennifer.
