My Fair Eliza

Jan. 2, 2 & 7 p.m., and sat. jan. 3, 2 p.m. The classic story of Professor Henry Higgins and his attempt to turn “guttersnipe” Eliza Doolittle into a lady who could pass as “a duchess at an ambassador’s garden party” was first performed in 1913 (as a German translation) in Vienna, followed by its New York premiere in March of 1914 (again in German) and finally in English in London in April, 1914.
