Mourning in the Morning: The Women Who Voted with Susan B Anthony

When: Sat., March 14, 10:30 a.m. 2020

When considering American Women's Suffrage in the context of Mount Hope Cemetery, thoughts turn immediately to Susan B. Anthony and her leadership in this arena. Yet there were other local women who supported this movement, who in 1872 attempted to register and to vote in a federal election. At the same time, there were many other Rochester women advancing not only the cause of suffrage but also breaking new ground as women in many other aspects of society. 100 years after the passing of the Nineteenth Amendment, we explore the continuing impact of these women today. calendar.libraryweb.org/event/6117151
