One hundred nine years ago, the village of Fairport held an enormous weeklong event, Old Home Week, for past and present residents of the community, and anyone else who cared to visit. A souvenir booklet was published as part of the celebration, and within this publication is an incredibly informative essay, Little Journeys to Pleasant Places. This essay will serve as the foundation for a presentation by Perinton Historian Bill Poray, who will use text from the 1908 essay, along with documents, photographs, and insights to provide a unique historical perspective.
