Chris Cohen has done plenty of work with other bands, including Haunted Graffiti and Deerhoof, and has the likes of Pitchfork and Captured Tracks tooting his horn. He finally released his first solo work. The music is firmly mid-tempo and ranges from psychedelic to easy-listening 60's pop, and is geared toward hanging out on your porch swing listening to cicadas at dusk. Cohen is an easy choice if you like Tame Impala. Opening the show will be locals Light Feelings, which ironically enough seems to deal with the topic of heavy feelings. As long as it doesn't dissolve into moaning it should be nice. Paxtor will be rounding out the night with noise collages, and Manic Monday will be on hand at 11:30 p.m. so you can get your 80's fix.
The show takes place Monday, March 25, 7:30 p.m. at the Bug Jar, 219 Monroe Ave. $8-$12. 454-2966, bugjar.com.
