Horticultural Heritage Of Mount Hope

From the opening of the Erie Canal in 1825 through the 20th century, Rochester was a center for horticulture and the nursery business. Mount Hope Cemetery is the permanent resting place of the innovators that made Rochester the Flower City, and the cemetery is Rochester’s most important romantic landscape.

Dennis Carr is your tour guide. He is a founding member, past president and current trustee of the Friends of Mount Hope Cemetery. He is the Senior Tour Guide at Mount Hope, with 2019 marking his 41st year leading tours of Mount Hope Cemetery.

Price: $10; Children under 16 are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Friends of Mt. Hope members are free.
