Left-Handed 2nd Baseman

“Never Grow Up”

Self-released

Besides his hip-hop folk-funk rendered exquisitely by Friday in America, singer-songwriter Fran Broderick also shines as Left-Handed 2nd Baseman. LH2B has a new album in the pipe and ready for launch called “Trench Digging During Peacetime.” If the lead single, “Never Grow Up,” with its swirling dynamics and overwhelming joy, is any indication, then it should be a fantastic platter.

This track starts out plaintive and simple, building around Broderick’s world-weary voice. An at times gospel-laden chorus joins in along the way and so does some amazing brass that leads the listener to careen to the song’s conclusion. It’s a joyful noise.

Expect “Trench Digging During Peacetime” out on January 25.
