FOLK | Local Singer-Songwriters in the Round

Local Singer-Songwriters in the Round brings together four acoustic performers that share the stage at one time and take turns playing their tunes. Mixed in are anecdotes that tell stories behind the songs. The featured musicians for this concert are Jed Curran, Connie Deming, Davey O., and Steve Piper. Jed Curran (pictured) has been a member of the local scene since the late 1970's. Connie Deming is a prolific singer-songwriter and has recently released new CD, "Into the Blue." Rust-belt troubadour Davey O. earned numerous awards and delivers "pretense-free Americana." Kansas-native Steve Piper's style can be roughly described as folk country. The only thing better than a show at Café Veritas is a house concert in your living room.

Local Singer-Songwriters in the Round is Saturday, January 3, at Café Veritas at First Unitarian Church, 220 South Winton Road. 7:30 p.m. $10-$18. cafeveritas.org.
