Rochester's longest-running fine art and crafts festival has expanded this year to include artists from beyond the bounds of New York State. The Memorial Art Gallery's 62nd Clothesline Festival will continue to host local and regional makers, but festival goers this year can also browse and buy from national artists. The fest will also feature live entertainment (Meghan Koch & The Gentleman Callers, Chaz Hearne, and Up2Something on Saturday; Ryan T. Carey, Jim E Legg Trio, and The New Gospel Times on Sunday), food from a variety of vendors and food trucks, and free family art activities. And the entry fee includes admission to the art on display at the MAG. Have any sample-size, travel-size, or full-size unused toiletries kicking around? Bring them along to donate to Sample Soap!
Clothesline will take place at the Memorial Art Gallery campus, 500 University Avenue, on Saturday and Sunday, September 8 and 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $5; $4 for members of the MAG; and free to ages 10 and younger (accompanied by an adult). 276-8900; mag.rochester.edu.
