William M. Miller's book is the first to tell the life story of this pioneer aviator, the first man to land an airplane on a ship and takeoff again. In the year and a half before he crashed into the earth and died in 1911, at age 24, this world famous aviator had already flown his Curtiss biplane hundreds of times in cities and towns across the United States.
