The Gates Historical Society is honored to announce that Roscoe Hastings, Rochester Genealogical Society, will be presenting on Ellis Island. This presentation will trace the history of Ellis Island from colonial times to the present. It will investigate why immigrant processing was necessary. It will also define the immigration processing procedure and what happened to the immigrants after they passed or failed the process.
