When: Mon., March 18, 6:30-8 p.m. 2019

This course will focus on the history on women's roles in making and selling alcohol, the temperance movement and how it tied into the suffragette movement, and the prohibition era (1920s - early 30's).
-
Facilitator Laura Chekow will cover including legal precedents and fun mythologies as well as the history of black bartenders (also often not including women as our society seems to have a hierarchical pattern with rights being bestowed upon white male/black male/then women, prior to other POC's etc). This course will end with recipes, tastings, and food.
