The inspireDANCE Festival returns to the University of Rochester for its eighth year, starting this Saturday and running through Friday, January 26. The weeklong celebration of offers numerous opportunities for local dancers to hone their craft with more than 30 master classes. The range of classes — encompassing varied movement styles and techniques — covers everything from yoga and capoeira to jazz, West African dance, and the Lindy Hop. A student concert opens the festival, which also includes inspireJAM, with its focus on breakdancing and hip-hop; Salsa Night; and "dying and dying and dying," a performance from MBDance led by Maria Bauman to close the festival.
InspireDANCE Festival runs from Saturday, January 20, through Friday, January 26, at the University of Rochester, 500 Joseph C. Wilson Boulevard. Various times and locations.
