MUSIC: Sometimes it just takes two. In the case of Jumbo Shrimp, it is exactly that: Just two guys, an acoustic guitar, and drums, churning out your rock and roll favorites all around town. The shrimp come to shore at Marge's Lake Side Inn (4909 Culver Road) tonight, at 6 p.m., for a free show. Get all the info at margeslakesideinn.com, and just a heads up, the show is 21 and over only.

MUSIC: More than a decade after her crowning as the original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson remains the de facto answer when people try to legitimize televised singing contests. Since leaving the danger stools Clarkson has more than paid her dues, selling millions of albums and singles thanks to her incredibly catchy songs ("Breakaway," "Since U Been Gone," "Walk Away," "Stronger," and many more). She'll be hitting CMAC (3355 Marvin Sands Drive, Canandaigua,) tonight at 7 p.m., tickets ranging $35-$75, and any other info you need is right at cmacevents.com.

MUSIC: Time to party like a rock star! Rockstar Energy Drink will be bringing more than an energy high to Darien Lake Performing Arts Center (9993 Alleghany Road, Darien Center) with its Uproar Festival, highlighting all that is heavy and thrash and loud and raucous. Shinedown, Godsmack, and Staind will all be there, tickets will run $20-$85, and it's an early event starting at 1 p.m., so get ready now. Check out godarienlake.com for more information.

THEATER: Bristol Valley Theater (151 S. Main St., Naples) will present "GetAway Cabaret" today at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10-$25, and the show continues through September 2. For more info, call 374-6318 or visit bvtnaples.org.

THEATER: Attend a dramatic reading of "Mauritius" at 3 p.m. today by the Rochester Fringe Playreading Series at Blackfriars Theatre (795 E. Main St.). The event is free, but donations are accepted. Info: 520-2940, [email protected].
