Do you like to rock out to your GameBoy? Then this is the show for you. Buffalo's Danimal Cannon is in town to show you just what he can do with his portable Nintendo system, and all I can say is it makes me very sad that I can't play video games featuring this music. It ranges from what ought to be the backing for the best racing game to some seriously dubby mixes. All from a video-game system. Makes me feel lazy for all those afternoons I spent trading crap and tormenting cuccos in "Link's Awakening." Local Nick Maynard brings a much more 16-bit sound to take you forth into that shiny future. The Scrabble-bonus named Sparxs and Yarms end up sounding a lot more New Wave than electro-folk, but it's catchy as all get out.

ROC_CHIP 28 takes place Friday, March 15, 9 p.m. at the Bug Jar, 219 Monroe Ave. $5-$7. Show is 21+ (30 attendees under 21). 454-2966,
