The City of Rochester has announced a schedule of events in celebration of Black Heritage Black Heritage Month. As 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of Black History month, this year's theme is "A Century of Black History, Life and Culture."
As part of this month-long program, City Hall Link Gallery (30 Church Street) will host "150 Ancestors," a celebration of 150 African-Americans who have contributed to the Greater Rochester area, hosted by David Haygood, Jr., and featuring youth and adult artists. A reception will be held Thursday, January 29, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission is free.
A second reception, "An Evening of Art & Jazz," will take place the following Thursday, February 5, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The exhibit will remain on display February 2 through March 23. For more information, call 428-9857 or email [email protected].
