The training is the first step in becoming a Family and Divorce Mediator recognized by ACR and the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation. 37.5 Continuing Legal Education Credits are pending. The class is ideal for those looking to expand an existing law or counseling practice, as well as those looking to begin a new professional endeavor. The course is taught over five days and includes detailed information on topics such as understanding and responding to conflict, successful conflict resolution, professional standards of practice, the emotional impact of divorce, parenting, support, equitable distribution, legal counsel and documentation preparation, opportunities for continuing education, and ways to establish a practice.
