The
Rochester City School District will hold an open house to
discuss the current budget gap — estimated at more than $40 million for the 2015-2016 school year. The event is at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, at the Montessori Academy on the Freddie Thomas Campus, 625 Scio Street.
The

Inner Loop Reconstruction,” at 12:12 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27.
Joni Monroe, executive director of the
Rochester Regional Community Design Center, and Roger Brown, creative consultant with RRCDC, will talk about how filling in a portion of the loop will encourage sustainable growth and create a more livable downtown. The event is the Central Library, 115 South Avenue.

Rochester City Council will hold a public forum at 5 p.m. today (Monday, January 26) on
outdoor vending operations. The meeting is in Council chambers at City Hall, 30 Church Street.
The city launched a
downtown food truck pilot program in 2013. The program was extended to February 2015 while the city develops a permanent program. The purpose of tonight’s forum is to solicit feedback on the recommendations for the permanent program.
Changes are proposed for both food trucks and food carts, including $1,000,000 liability insurance requirements for both. The downtown fee for trucks would increase to $1,000; outside of downtown would be $330. The fee for carts would not change.
City Council should vote on the permanent program at its February 18 meeting.
