Valentine's Day. A day for relationships? A day to spend with people? Chocolates and hearts and all that stuff?

Nah. Not if you're Nintendo. In a Nintendo Direct this morning, Nintendo unleashed release dates for several upcoming titles, as well as revealing a few games we haven’t seen before.

In what the company is calling the Year of Luigi, it showed off new footage from the upcoming "Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon," as well as revealing three new Luigi titles to hit this year: a new Mario Golf titled developed by the fine folks at Camelot, "Mario Golf: World Tour," (3DS) a new entry in the Mario & Luigi series for the 3DS, "Mario & Luigi: Dream Team," and a brand new DLC adventure starring Luigi add on for New Super Mario Brothers Wii U.

Be still my beating heart, but that was only the start. North American fans finally know when they will be playing the hotly anticipated "Animal Crossing: New Leaf," which will be hitting June 9. Don't expect to see me this summer, folks.

If love makes you go a little ape, Nintendo revealed "Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D," which will be hitting this summer. A 3D remake of the awesome Wii title, the game has an exclusive 3D video in the 3DS eShop right now.

Nintendo also showed off a slew of eShop titles hitting soon, including Wii Street U powered by Google, available now for free on the Wii U, "Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger," (coming out April 11, 3DS) and "Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move," (3DS). Several upcoming third party titles were also shown, including “The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct” (Wii U, March 26), “Need for Speed Most Wanted U" (Wii U, March 19), “Injustice: Gods Among Us" (Wii U, April 16), and “Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate" (Wii U, 3DS, March 19) which will feature cross platform play between the two versions of the game, and a free demo coming February 21.

Quite a lot for the slower months, especially on the 3DS side. What do you all think? A good Valentine's Day present? Check out the slide show for screens of these and other titles discussed, and let us know what you are most looking forward to in the comments.
