Karl Rogers, Artistic Director of Red Dirt Dance shares The Metallic Series, an evening of dance centered around metallic objects: golden army men, silver pumps, bronzed tighty-whities, nickels and glittering handbag latches. While the dances range between abstract meditations of beauty to a depiction of unrequited love, each work delves into a unique theatrical world. Rogers crafts quirky movement that highlights the virtuosity of the body while calling attention to the theatricality of the everyday.
