Ketterer Astoria, NY The film: One man struggles with suit envy, another cannot kiss with his eyes closed, and a third must reconcile the stories hes heard with the friendship he already has. The artist: David T. Ketterer, a graduate of NYUs Tisch School of the Arts, has been screening his short films at festivals across the country since 2006. Day In, Day Out: Selling Food in Bangkok 14:58 Pilapa Esara Brockport, NY The film: In a Thai slum, the challenges borne by Bangkoks working poor are witnessed through a day in the life of a migrant food vendor. The artist: Pilapa Esara is a cultural anthropologist of Thai heritage who started filming the featured slum in 1999, using only a hi-8 camera. Together as Fools 15:44 Timothy VanAuken Rochester, NY The film: Four friends are excited to see a midnight movieuntil a zombie apocalypse breaks out in the theater. The artist: Timothy VanAuken is a student of Cinema and Screen Studies at Monroe Community College. This is his first film. Eulogy 10:00 Susanna Kim Syracuse, NY The film: This experimental film is for the animals undergoing cruelty and sacrifice inside laboratories. The artist: Susanna Kim is a filmmaker with strong roots in experimental and independent film. Russia Will Pay for My Funeral 17:13 Joe Crescente Brooklyn & Rochester, NY The film: Famed Soviet actress Irina Shmeleva left Russia in the late 1990s, convinced that her acting career was over. This film explores her life as she negotiates her transition from honored celebrity in Moscow to small business owner in New York City. The artist: Joe Crescente is a freelance filmmaker, translator, editor and writer. Infatuation 10:00 Osaretin Omorodion Syracuse, NY The film: A deranged woman stalks the object of her desire, leading to a violent confession of love. The artist: Osaretin Omorodion is a student at SUNY Albany. This is her first professional film.
