KIDS | Tenth Annual Teen Book Festival

by

One way to encourage young readers and writers in their interests is to expose them to the working authors who are writing stories specifically for them. On Saturday, May 16, the 10th Annual Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival will be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Nazareth College Shults Center (4245 East Avenue).

Guest authors include M. T. Anderson, Jennifer Lynn Barnes, Charles Benoit, Heather Brewer, Jessica Brody, Michael Buckley Cinda Williams Chima, Ally Condie, Matt de la Peña, Sarah Dessen, Kevin Emerson, Gayle Forman, April Henry, Ellen Hopkins, James Howe, Julie Kagawa, A. S. King, Jo Knowles, Emmy Laybourne, Sarah J. Maas, Jonathan Maberry, Katie McGarry, G. Neri, Jennifer Niven, Chris Pallace, Jason Reynolds, Kevin Serwacki, Neal Shusterman, Heather Terrell, and Terry Trueman.

Teens are encouraged to cheer the authors arriving via parade at about 8:45 a.m. The festival will kick off with an opening panel game show featuring all guest authors and led by emcee, Charles Benoit. The rest of the day will be filled with author breakout sessions, and food and books will be available for purchase.

The Tenth Annual Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival is free and open to everyone, but seating preference will be given to teen readers at all sessions. Bring along your school mascot — there will be a dedicated mascot changing area. For more information about the schedule, the authors and their works, visit tbflive.org.
