I wish Senator Schumer would work to force the monopolistic cable companies to offer an à la carte channel option. Of all the causes he champions, this would easily garner the most popular support. Let's see if he's truly interested in helping the "little guy" (just don't hold your breath)...
Craig - Did you watch any of last night's news coverage? If so, you would've noticed plenty of WHITE agitators (aka "do-gooders") stirring up trouble as well. As you know, these kinds of controversial, national news stories bring out the crazies (communists, anarchists, etc.) who, more often than not, have no real connection to the issue at hand but instead show up with the sole intention of causing havoc.
I just noticed that the example I gave is not actually Wilson HS (which unintentionally proves my point!)... All of these ridiculous names to keep track of. Even "Wilson High School" is not "Wilson High School"... no, instead it's the "Joseph C. Wilson Commencement Academy" - whatever that means.
I'm probably stepping into a hornet's nest here, but what the heck...
Go back to neighborhood schools. Lose the fancy names (e.g. "Rochester Early College International High School"... can't we just call it "Wilson"?). It sounds simplistic, and admittedly I'm far from an education expert, but the so-called "experts" are and have been failing for a very long time. Get back to basics. Kids need a solid foundation (i.e. the ability to read & write) before we can expect anything else of them.
Just proves that Morelle and Duffy don't actually have any power in Albany. Maybe Louise should quit wasting her time on high-speed rail (which will, and should, never happen here) and focus on this. These people are a joke.
They should've bought Medley Centre instead.
Fairport?? I thought it was East Rochester
