'In C' and Carillon

When: Mon., Aug. 3, 7-8 p.m. 2015

This unique performance combines the carillon, an instrument with origins in the 16th century, and contemporary, minimalist music. Composed in 1964, Terry Riley’s ‘In C’ is often cited as the first minimalist composition. Rochester percussionist Matt Witten and other musicians will perform with U of R Carillonist Doris Aman on the Hopeman Memorial Carillon. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring folding chairs, blankets, snacks or picnics.
