Rochester's Federation of German-American Societies is celebrating its 112th German Festival in Spencerport with music — from local bands Die Lustigen Almdudler, The Frankfurters, and Die Auslanders — homemade German food, and traditional German beverages (i.e. beer). There will be a variety of kids and family events going on throughout the weekend, along with a traditional a German Church Service. The festival will be held under a big tent so weather conditions are not an issue.

The German Festival will take place at Spencerport Fireman's Field, 75 South Union Street, Spencerport, on Friday, August 12, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Saturday, August 13, 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. General admission is $5. The German Church Service will be held at St. John The Evangelist Church, 55 Martha Street, Spencerport, on Saturday, August 13, 3 p.m. Ages 16 and under get in for free with an adult ticket.
