Roc the Day, Zombies, and 12-12-12 celebrations abound

MUSIC: Zombies are all the rage, and what better way to get out and celebrate 12/12/12 than to party it up, zombie apocalypse style. Head on down to Vertex Nightclub (169 N. Chestnut St., 232-5498) as DJ Mike Dailor will spin you right into the afterlife. This undead party starts at 10 p.m., cover runs $5-$8.

MUSIC: Looking for an event of marathon proportions? Twelve will be happening today, a collective 12 hour long piece that starts at noon and will run until midnight at Greenovation (1199 E. Main St.). Performed by an orchestra of 20 local musicians, Twelve is a improvised work that will shift between 12 different conductors, while local artist Jay Lincoln constructs a concept structure to go with the musical tale.

MUSIC: The weather isn’t quite as white as it could be yet, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t take a break during your work day to enjoy some holiday cheer. Stop down to Hochstein (50 N. Plymouth Ave., hochstein.org) for A Cup of Good Cheer featuring Madrigalia. Music runs 12:10-12:50 p.m. and is free.
