Monroe County Legislature to elect new president

by

The Monroe County Legislature will hold its annual organizational meeting at 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, at the County Office Building, 39 West Main Street.

The big item on the agenda is the election of a new Legislature president. Republican Legislator Jeff Adair has served as president since 2010, but he’s term-limited out of the body at the end of this year. Republicans have chosen Legislator Anthony Daniele as their candidate for the post, and since they hold a substantial majority, he ought to have no trouble getting elected.

Republicans have already chosen Legislator Brian Marianetti as the majority leader, while Democrats have selected Legislator Cynthia Kaleh as the minority leader.
