City Council member Elaine Spaull sent out a brief announcement this morning saying she'll seek reelection.
Spaull, a Democrat, has held the East District seat on City Council since 2007. The district includes part of downtown stretches through several east side neighborhoods.
"By many significant measurements, the East quadrant of our city has made great progress including attracting new businesses, large and small, increasing the number of residents and property values, and triggering a surge in construction projects,” Spaull said in a press release. “These projects stretch throughout our quadrant, from East Main to East Avenue, from Monroe Avenue to Atlantic Avenue, and in all neighborhoods from Beechwood to Park Avenue to the Neighborhood of the Arts and all through the Inner Loop."
