Several media outlets are reporting that a judge has postponed his decision whether to dismiss charges against Robert Wiesner, who is one of four defendants in a bid-rigging case involving two county-linked local development corporations. 

Wiesner's attorney, James Nobles, has filed a motion to have the charges dismissed. His client was never given an opportunity to testify to a grand jury, Nobles says, despite requesting to do so. The state Attorney General's Office also submitted a motion to have the charges dismissed. But only so it could impanel a new grand jury to decide whether Wiesner should face charges and what those charges should be. 
Many local reporters (Democrat and Chronicle's David Riley, WHAM's Sean Carroll, and WHEC's Brett Davidsen) tweeted from this morning's hearing in front of acting Monroe County Justice Robert Noonan. And going by their tweets, Noonan expressed serious concerns about the charges against Wiesner. He said the indictment didn't offer details about why Wiesner faces the charges against him, essentially two felony counts related to bid-rigging. And he said he hadn't seen any supporting evidence that backs up the charges, either.


It's unclear when Noonan will decide on the Wiesner charges. Media reports say that Noonan wants more information from the Attorney General's Office prosecutors and that he wants the prosecution to turn more evidence over to Wiesner's attorney.
